Set up your workspace

Standard onboarding requires your company name, a verified owner email address and payment setup before preparation work that incurs costs. Source links are optional—you can add them later.

Chat is prepared by default. You do not need to choose between help center only and help center with AI chat during signup. You choose whether to enable public chat when you publish your help center for the first time.

  1. Complete eligible payment setup before preparation work that incurs costs. Billing and Checkout show your accepted price, trial eligibility, first-charge date and amount due before you authorize payment. If you are eligible, your 30-day trial begins after completed payment setup.
  2. Use Assistant to add links or documents, answer setup questions and request preparation work.
  3. Review the resulting articles and any questions or source-reading problems before publishing.

Preparation creates editable articles. In an empty workspace, drafts may save automatically. When you already have articles or operator-edited work, preparation produces review proposals. You can steer or pause preparation.

Test saved content before publication

Authenticated Test chat is available with saved content before publication. You can check answers without publishing your articles or enabling public chat.

  1. Save the article changes you want to test.
  2. Open test chat from the editor or an authenticated saved preview.
  3. Choose Start test and ask questions to check the answers against your saved content.
  4. If you make more edits, save them and restart the test to use an updated snapshot.

A test does not publish your changes or activate private guidance. Public changes still require publishing, and private guidance still requires separate review and enabling.

Make your help available

Saving a draft does not publish it. An owner or administrator must use Review and publish changes to make public changes available to customers. When publishing your help center for the first time, you can choose whether to enable public chat or publish articles only. Preparing or testing chat does not enable public chat.

Visitors do not need an account to read your published help or use available chat.

Automatic onboarding source checks run daily by default. Owners and administrators can change the schedule or disable these checks.
